2. What is the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS)?

The 2002 Economic Census of American Samoa will use the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). NAICS is a system that groups establishments into industries based on the activities in which they are primarily engaged. There are 20 sectors in NAICS that cover producing and nonproducing activities. NAICS is updated every 5 years.
