7.  What services are covered in the QSS?

The QSS has covered the following industries since the fourth quarter of 2003: Information (NAICS 51); Professional, Scientific, and Technical Sector (NAICS 54); and Administrative and Support, Waste Management and Remediation Services (NAICS 56). Starting in the fourth quarter of 2004 Hospitals (NAICS 622) and Nursing and Residential Care Facilities (NAICS 623) were added. In the first quarter of 2009 Ambulatory Health Care Services (NAICS 621); Social Assistance Services (NAICS 624); Transportation and Warehousing (NAICS 48pt-49); Rental and Leasing Services (NAICS 532); Arts, Entertainment and Recreation (NAICS 71); and Other Services Except Public Administration (NAICS 81) were added to the survey. In the third quarter of 2009 Finance and Insurance (NAICS 52) was added. In the first quarter of 2010 Utilities (NAICS 22); Selected Industries in Transportation (NAICS 481, 483, 485, 486, 487, 488); Real Estate (NAICS 531); Lessors of Nonfinancial Intangible Assets Except Copyrighted Works (NAICS 533); and Educational Services (NAICS 61) were added to the survey; In the third quarter of 2012 Accommodations (NAICS 721) was added.
