7.  What services are covered in the QSS?

In 2004, the Quarterly Services Survey began covering the following sectors: Information (Sector 51), Professional, Scientific, and Techincal Services (Sector 54), and Administrative and Support and Waste Management and Remediation Services (Sector 56).

In 2005, coverage began for the Health Care Industry: Hospitals (Sector 622), and Nursing and Residential Care Facilities (Sector 623).

In 2009, coverage began for the remainder of the Health Care and Social Assistance Industry: Ambulatory Health Care Services (Sector 621), and Social Assistance (Sector 624). Coverage was also expanded to include; truck transportation; couriers and messaging; warehousing and storage; finance and insurance; rental and leasing services; art, entertainment, and recreation; and Other services (except public administration).

These sectors have been designated by NAICS.
